“Billy” Zane, or better his real name William George Jr. (born February 24, 1966 is an American actor and producer.

Billy Zane is best known for playing Hughie in Dead Calm (1989), Kit Walker / The Phantom in The Phantom (1996), Caledon Hockley in Titanic (1997), and Mr. E in CQ (2001), and for his television function John Wheeler in Twin Peaks.

Billy Zane was born in Chicago, Illinois to Thalia and William George Zane, Sr., both of whom had been amateur actors and founders of a college for medical technicians.[1][2] Both of his mother and father are of Greek descent (Chios on his mother’s aspect and Mani on his father’s aspect), and his family’s authentic surname, “Zanetakos” , had been anglicized to “Zane” by his moms and dads, who furthermore elevated him Greek Orthodox. He has an older sister, Lisa Zane, who is an actress and singer.

After completing a year abroad at the U . s . School in Switzerland, Billy Zane graduated from Francis W. Parker School and attended Harand Camp of the Theater Arts, located in Evanston, Illinois.
